AMPP Standards Now Available as a Member Benefit

In August 2024, the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) announced expanded standards access for members, making eligible current AMPP standards available as part of membership at no additional cost.
The initiative was developed in response to member feedback and was intended to make important corrosion-control, protective-coatings, and materials-performance standards easier for professionals to access and use.

Responding to Member Feedback
AMPP described the change as a direct response to concerns and requests from members who wanted easier access to the standards used throughout the materials protection and performance industry.

What the New Standards Benefit Included
At launch, AMPP said members would receive online and offline access to eligible current standards through a platform designed to make finding and using technical documents easier.
01 · USER-FRIENDLY ACCESS
Find the right standard more easily
The platform was designed to allow members to browse, search, sort, and filter the standards catalog, including options for organizing documents by committee, update information, and status.
02 · ACCESS ACROSS DEVICES
Use standards where the work happens
AMPP announced support for accessing standards across devices, including offline functionality intended to make technical documents more practical for field use when an internet connection may not be readily available.
03 · DOCUMENT SECURITY
Protected access to technical content
Standards were to be delivered through a controlled platform designed to protect the integrity of the documents and their distribution. AMPP noted that some jointly developed standards were excluded from the membership benefit.
Why Easier Standards Access Matters
Standards provide shared technical references for activities such as corrosion control, protective coatings, cathodic protection, surface preparation, inspection, testing, materials selection, and asset protection.
For professionals who rely on these documents, easier access can reduce friction when checking requirements, preparing specifications, evaluating work, or locating the latest applicable technical document.
